Theoretical Treatments

Several well-known “researchers” have proposed theoretical treatments for the management of CFS and FM. None of these has been shown to be particularly effective in scientific, randomized, placebo-controlled studies. In fact, they may only be helpful in a small subset of persons with CFS/FM. Dr. Lapps’ view is that they should be applied cautiously and only by physicians who are especially knowledgeable in their use.

These theoretical treatments include those associated with the following people: St. Amand, Lerner, Marshall, Pall, Cheney and Von Konynenburg.
