Anxiety and worry are common reactions to the uncertainties and sense of vulnerability triggered by CFS and fibromayalgia. Here are three ways to respond.
Step 1: Practice Relaxation
It's hard to feel anxious if you're relaxed. A daily period of relaxation lowers the anxiety that results from long-term stress
Step 2: Stay Connected
Call a friend, pet your pet. Simple contact is soothing. It counteracts isolation and preoccupation with problems.
Step 3: Don't Worry Alone
Sharing a worry almost always reduces its size, makes it feel less threatening and may suggest solutions.
