Suggested Steps for Creating a Treatment Plan

You may create several or many treatment plans, one for each symptom of CFS and/or fibro (and also possibly plans for treating other conditions as well).

Step 1: Select a Symptom
Focus on one symptom at a time. Many people with CFS and fibro start with poor sleep, but you could also pick the symptom that is most bothersome for you or the one you feel most motivated to tackle.

Step 2: List Options and Select One or Two to Try
Brainstorm possible treatments. For sleep, you might consider options in the categories of sleep habits and environment, sleep medications, and sleep disorders. Make a decision to focus on one or two treatments.

Step 3: Experiment with Your Selected Option(s)
Try one selection at a time, each one for a reasonable period of time. Keeping records can help you determine what, if any, effect your options have on your symptoms. Based on your results, you may modify your approach or more on to another option.
